Andrews Love

Andrew is 16. He has a crush on a girl that goes to his college called Katrina. She is beautiful, dark-skinned, with brown eyes and long glittering hair. Andrew has loved this girl from primary school. They first met in year5 but never seemed to talk to each other. Whenever he sees her he walks in the other direction, scared that she might laugh at him or something. He finds it hard to make eye contact with her, never mind talking to her.

Andrews’s best friend Jack On the other hand is very popular with all the girls.

Andrew has never really had a good experience with girls. All the girls he seems to like don’t like him. He’s just to shy.

Andrew has gained a bit of confidence since year 5 and even managed not to run across the estate the last time Katrina smiled at him.

Valentine’s Day was coming up soon and his college were having a dance night. Andrew was very excited. His dream was to dance with Katrina. Andrew had spent all his pocket money on a card, some chocolates and a smart designer shirt and got himself ready for Monday night’s rave.

On Valentine’s Day people were a bit tired from having a long day at college but parties’ always get everyone going especially valentines because everyone tries to take it seriously.

That evening, Andrew walked in and started playing it cool. Every one told him he looked nice “I hope Katrina thinks so too, £40 is a lot of money” he thought.

Even Jack said that he had 3 of those tops but wondered where Andrew get his one from.

All of a sudden He noticed Katrina and a few of her friends walk in, he could hardly see them because all he noticed was this angel with a lovely afro hairstyle, decorated with some colourful ribbons and fresh Caine rows in the front.

He didn’t even notice his mouth had been open, filling up with water for a few minutes as he watched her moving softly.

All of a sudden they played his favourite tune. What!! Next thing he was rocking, jerking and jumping. He bumped into a few people but it was all right, no one was hurt or bleeding but when Katrina’s close friend Cloe shrieked “what do you think you’re doing?” He realised he had knocked her weave off.

She was steaming angry but she was in the way of the love of his life that was still dancing sweetly and hadn’t been put off by the commotion. “If I can just get her to go away I might get a chance to dance with Katrina” he thought.

He had an idea. “Sorry Chloe did you know Jack was looking for you?” Chloe’s tone changed into a really soft voice and her face lit up brightly

“Don’t lie, really?” she said. “Yeah he was asking for your number as well. I reckon you should take an ice cream over to him”.

“Later’s” she said and off she went.

“Yes’s I’m in” Andrew thought. He took a deep breath and walked up to Katrina. “Hi hi hi hiya Katrina you look lovely”. He said struggling to get his words out.

“Thanks, What you saying Andy, nice top”. “Thank you. D d d do you want to dance?” Andrew replied.

“Seriously? Of course I will. I’ve wanted us to dance together since primary school.” Andrew nearly collapsed but had to play it cool.

Andrew was so happy he grabbed Katrina really tight and started dancing. Even when the music stopped he held on as if he didn’t want the night to end. As he was dancing he took a look over to Jack dancing with 3 girls. Chloe wasn’t one of them.

“You’re a really good dancer Andrew, where did you learn?” Andrew was blushing now. “I’m always raving” he lied. He couldn’t tell her he practises all his dance moves in the shower. He must be able to get away with a little lie especially now as he was feeling like the happiest man in the world.

“Happy Valentines, here’s a gift I got you” he said nervously.

“That’s so sweet” She said and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

“That’s it now I am so in there. Perhaps I should kiss her back. I bet she likes tongues” he thought. “Maybe I should have bought her an engagement ring or perhaps that’s going a bit fast”.

“Shall I show you what I bought you?” said Katrina. “Oh my daze!

Yes please.”

They casually strolled outside and Andrew felt wonderful. As they turned a corner he thought he recognised Chloe with a group of boys he was sure didn’t go to the college.

“Isn’t that your friend?” he asked Katrina, “Yeah ,why do you think she’s covered in ice-cream” they both thought.

Too late! Over she came with her friends.

“That’s him, he set me up.” Chloe said.

The boys lurched towards him.

Andrew was missing.

The End.
